Thanks. I heard their alarm call. Even though I was in the Botanic Gardens a dog ran past them and they got a bit upset, along with the Superb Blue Wrens they were hanging out with.
They especially hate cats. Since my wife got cats they don't come round our garden anymore, though I still see them on the farm. I have had them eating crumbs off my jumper after my lunch. They sometimes become very friendly.
Yes that is right Amateur. I think the same thing each time I see one. Even though we have a cat, I still see them in my garden from time to time. Cats around here are too well fed and lazy thank goodness.Also the small birds only frequent the shadier back corner of my garden, where the catbirds roam. I think the felines are more interested in the sunny north side.

You can always rely on the scrubwrens to tell you when a snake is around, they have a very insistent alarm call.
