ok guys & gals, ive been sent this photo. it was taken on the nepean river in penrith. im not sure?? thinking black shouldered kite??? what do you reckon. checkout above link.
Sorry, hard to tell from that photo. Quite possible as I always see BSKs in the weir area especially. Also, could be a White-bellied Sea Eagle, but I am afraid I can only say raptor and best I can say is an Accipitrid (hawks, eagles and kites family member).
yeah, i agree, i thought maybe a WBSE aswell, a hard 1. must say though their are quite a few raptors at the nepean river to be found. cheers for the imput, never disappointed.

just checked out your pics, wonderful!!! particularly birds of prey. have you heard of the birds of the bush in rankin springs. lots of Birds of prey their. the nankeen kestrel has always been one of my favs. as a child i read a book called "kes" & wished i could tame one, this is what started me bird watching. the birds of prey have a certain distinguishing respect they demand.

hope that worked.
Cheers, Owen.
Sorry didn't work but it looks like either a BSK or WBSE maybe more likely the kite from wings pointed with black tips.
Cheers, Owen.
yeah from other pictures ive seen, maybe a BSK, cheers for your input.
