Hi, I moved to Sydney's eastern suburbs recently and there is seemingly one bird that lives near our home that is constantly calling all day, starting at pre-dawn.
I'm sorry for the lame description but the call is like 'woy, wooieeee'. There is a pause of about 5 seconds then it goes again. This starts before the sun comes up and goes on all day. It sounds like only the one bird doing this over and over.
Does anyone know what type of bird this could be?
Thank you!
The Eastern Koels are back - their pre-dawn call is one of the first signs of spring :-) Some decent sound samples here https://wildambience.com/wildlife-sounds/pacific-koel/ check it out.
