Immature Golden Whistlers

I just had the the best experience in a long time. (it happened about this time last year as well)

In the trees and shrubs surrounding the house, at least 5 Golden Whistlers were calling . I was just standing amongst them, as they were darting from side to side, they didn't even notice me. One almost hit me. None of them had the yellow colour yet, but I do think they were all young males. The episode lasted for at least 10 minutes, then they flew off into the Park behind us.

They looked like this:

Thanks for sharing your graet experience, M-L. You also have a nice photo to help you remember the moment. I had a similar experience when walking through our park with my daughter. About a dozen Grey Fantails flew around and (almost into) us for about 10 minutes.

Cheers,

Just gorgeous M-L - those experiences are ones to treasure. The birds don't see you as a threat and you just blend into their world...

I am glad you had an enchanting moment M-L, it really is something special, I saw my first Golden Whistler yesterday so I can relate to your magic moment.
