A couple of months ago I visited a spot I normally reserve for landscape shooting, but that day I thought I'd take my birding lens too and see what I could get.
I have noticed plenty of small bush birds there before and I hadn't actually visited there for birds - there being the Golden Valley Tree Park in Balingup Western Australia. A great and colourful spot especially at the onset of Autumn!
Anyway, I sat behind a fallen log for a bit and observed plenty of silvereyes, splendid fairy wrens and the occasional rufous whistler, then I noticed a very small brown bird flitting about not too far away - I managed a couple of shots (identifying it as an Inland Thornbill) - then with a huge amount of luck, he landed right in front of me and I got this shot - the only shot as two milliseconds later - he was gone!

Got to love ot when you get the shot!
Love the colours in this photo well done.
Great work .... brilliant photo
Great shot, it shows the features of the Inland well - and how difficult it can be to separate from the Brown, where their ranges meet.
Lovely pose. Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much everyone! They are a gorgeous little bird and I count my lucky stars he flew right next to me!
