I came across a group of gallahs the other evening and was fascinated by the little ones play acting/fighting, I took a whole stack of photos of them thought others might be interested in a few of them.

Glorious!
They are having fun
I wonder if they're establishing their pecking order, too.
Geat photos, well done on the photography, I find it always hard to take photos of birds that have a similar colour as the background.
Great detail in the feathers too.

They're beautiful. I love these shots - give an addded dimension into a particular birds personality/natural habits etc. I had front row seats to a couple of White-faced Herons having a squabble the other day - boy, these birds mean business when their feathers are ruffled (so to speak)
Excellent Dianne! Great to see this part of their socialization.
All we got here today was the incessant, raucus screech of a young galah trying to persuade Mum to regurgitate. Meanwhile, Mum was steadfastly refusing to co-operate in order to encourage junior to fend for himself! This went on for ages and was so loud we couldn't hear each other talking!

Thanks for all the comments - yes they are rather cute and I did wonder the reason why they go on an on wanting a feed. I have noticed that the parent bird (guess it is the dad!!) often flies away they cannot stand the noise any longer. So that makes sense that they have to fend for themselves. Tough world out there.
