So I took my family up to a friends property at Kenilworth on the weekend. I didn't get an opportunity to do much birding there but managed to take a couple of photos on the Sunday morning before I went canoeing with the kids.
Restless Flycatcher
Double Bar Finch
Black Fronted Dotterel
Great shots as usual Devster.
I remember the Double Barred Finch from Darwin, we don't get them in Melbourne. But the Dotterel with one foot raised is a classic.
Cheers,
Denis.
I had to look up Kenilworth, out west of Brisbane.
Great set Devon. The Dotterel is cracker.
Amazing set Devster!

Excellent photos Devster - the Restless Flycatchers love perching on fence wires, must be perfect for their line of work.
great pics - did you visit the Cheese Factory?

We live not far from Kennilworth and have not seen a Dotterel or Double Barred Finch. I'll have to keep looking. Wonderful clarity in the photos.
Thanks Tim, Reflex, Shorty and Amson.
Yes my fav is the Dotterel also Shorty.
Amson, I took the kids for a small canoe ride down the Mary river and there were quite a few pairs along the banks.
The photos of the Dotterels I took were actually near the swimming hole where the kids swam and seems to be their perminent place of residence.
The finches and Chestnut Breasted Manikins come through early morning and late afternoon.
There was also an Azure kingfisher but I couldn't get within cooee of him.
Stunning shots! Flycatcher is my fav.
