This female was amongst a few other Kings, some Crimson Rosellas and the newest birds in my garden, three Eastern Rosellas. Because we let the grass (weeds mostly) simply grow, those birds march across every day to feed on the seeds. The Kings and Crimsons are fine, I can walk past them, they fly off ,sit in a tree or on a post and come back. The Easterns are very shy and flighty though.

Lovely photos especially the close-up. A pair (male and female) have taken to visiting my camellias in Sydney which is a wonderful sight as that bright red stands out. I was surprised as I had not realised that they enjoyed the nuts from these bushes.
