On a recent trip to Cania Gorge we stopped at Charlie Moreland Park near Kenilworth, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. As we found the local Kookaburras are a friendly lot and don't mind posing. Like these shots the best as many pics show them perched. This one was looking for a feed.
Nice photos. Kookaburras are interesting birds, just look at that beak!
Thanks timrp. Yes, they are interesting and have some attitude.
Nice photos, always interesting seeing birds like this on the ground
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
Thanks laza.
Nice pictures, we have two Kooka's in our yard & they sit on the fence & call us when they want to be fed...
Thanks matman1953. They are certainly social with people after they gain trust. Love em'.
I have not seen the Blue Winged Kookaburra before, it looks very similiar to the Laughing Kookaburra. They do seem to easily get used to people.

These are Laughing Kookaburra (the releated fact sheet is not the right one)
