I went to Mt Kuring ai, by train, and walked the Kuring ai Chase area, saw some Variegated Fairy Wrens and also some White Eared Honeyeaters, which came very close to me. Both new birds for me. I didn't get photos, but I do find it satisfying just to be able to watch sometimes.
You are dead right - go and get emersed in the whole experience of the bush and birds etc. I should do that more often myself rather than being distracted by trying to get a pic of something or other - not seeing the forest for the trees! That is only place i have seen WE honeyeaters - down the track at the end of Harwood ave from Mt Kuringai station.
Yes, that's where i was, and that is interesting that its the only place you've seen them. I didn't get all the way down to the creek, so will have to go back again!

Ever so slowly people are becoming aware of the bountiful benefits of being in the bush. Observe & learn while getting away from the rat race, the dumb phone & the brainwashing of the TV screen.
