Thanks Devster, sounds like you need to do a road trip to the lake. I also see these guys at the Lake but have yet to get a good pic of one at this location.

I agree with Elsie. That Varied Sittella is just beautiful and from what little I have read there are five or six distinctive races in Australia of that bird (not sure how that affects the tick list???)....Adding Lake Cargelligo to my must do list.

Reflex - I am glad that you asked and so let me introduce you to my list as I also record sub-species, ie Australia 586 Australia sub-species 189 North America 92 Samoa 27
My list has Varied Sittella with the nominate race and 4 other sub-species - I have seen the nominate race and 2 other sub-species. Simpson & Day is the field guide that provides the best sub-species info.

I don't think anyone would argue with you logic there Peter. Interesting to read you also have an American and Samoan bird list, one is enough for me.
What is your Australian bird count now (including sub-species)? :)
Samford Valley Qld.
Great photos! I love the Lake Cargelligo area, so many species to see there :)
Australia 586 Australia sub-species 189, I wouldn't add them together
Peter
Great to see all of these young birds Shorty and nice quality photos at that.
