Took these a while ago at Gold Coast Botanic Gardens. Just got around to looking at them and was shocked to find this Little Pied Cormorant has what appears to be a hook in its mouth which is revealed in the shot with its mouth open. Seems to be coping okay with it. Wish I had known at the time tho.
I love these pictures, what a face! Though it is sad about the hook.

I have had the same thing with a turtle- I go home and show photos to other family members, and they tell me there is a fishing line that disappears into its mouth

Nice shots ... i really like #4 with the droplets of water.
Dont be upset about the "hook", its just part of the mouth - I have shots of the LPC with mouth open and they show that same protuberance in the back of the mouth.
