Little brown Bird

Hi, this little chap flew into my house in something of a panic. He flew around above my head, and was about the size of a robin, and had a fairly bright white belly, with no visible markings. If you look closely at the photo, (and can zoom in), you can make out what looks like the white outer feathers on the tail. He probably looks a bit darker in the photo than actually, as I was tring to get more clrity on his markings.
My usual experts are divided on this, but I think it is a Jacky Winter. They are unusual in  my area, Anstead, Brisbane, but are seen further out in the Brisbane Valleys.

Sorry, pic too small & enlarging doesn't help for me to make an ID

It is too dark for Jacky Winter

what did you do too make it darker?

I just did some fiddling with fill light etc on Picasa. The more confident of my local experts now have almost convinced me it is a female Rose Robin (the timing is right for them), but I was just hoping it was a JW, as they are not seen around here any more (used to be).

I used the zoom on a little digital camera, so I can't get the image any clearer, but there is another with less zoom which shows just the relative size and shape.

with the longish tail, it just could be a Rose robin . Not 100% shore

See it!  Hear it!

Two experts think Rose Robin, but two think JW, for the following reasons-

"I think it's a Jacky Winter. Characters good for this species, but wrong for female robins, include the lack of white or buff wingbars, the dark lores, and the long wings reaching about two-thirds down the tail"

So, the comments about the JW are from a HANZAB artist, so it may be JW.

The RR folks are both VERY experienced too. So, really none the wiser :)

The photo is not (unfortunately) of good enough quality to be able to get a convincing ID on this bird. Sorry. sad
