This guy is putting on a show for me, hovering directly above my deck and launching swooping attacks down the ridge from there, amazing!

As an avid raptor enthusiast I am very fortunate to live on top of a ridge line that provides the perfect soaring/hunting platform whenever a southerly is blowing and I have seen many different raptors from my back deck, including numerous resident species that I observe regularly. I first saw this little eagle perched in a tree near my place a few weeks ago and for the last three days I have seen him soaring the ridge and diving on prey, he seemed to be putting on a show for me because often he would hover right near my deck using the updraft and headwind to remain stationary before launching attacks, great to see : )
