When I uploaded I thought the second bird was a Sea Eagle but I think now an Eastern Osprey is more likely. Could someone confirm for me please? Apologies as I should have checked sooner Sue
Sue, good pics, always good to get BiF pics, yes, definitely an Osprey - size and mask would be indicators; the 3rd Osprey pic is very similar to my screensaver 'cept opposite wing higher
Breathtaking Sue. If I'm allowed to have a slight favourite (love them all!) I think #3, with that slight blur in the wing tip it's just perfectly captured it's movement imo - Love them!
great stuff Sue. There have been Ospreys nesting around Narrabeen Lake for years. Not surprising at all. They've slowly began to spread south as their populations recover in the north.
Saw a similar bird on another day but too far away and bad light for decent pictures. However there appears to be a seagull in its talons (held by wings) and another seagull in pursuit. Would that be unusual because the next time it seemed to be fishing? sue
fhey would brighten any day up,
most definately ...great capture .... spread those wings , just lovely !
