Loved up finches.

A series of pictures I snapped of a very cute and cuddly pair of Red-browed Finches observed along a creek line. I felt like quite the 'bird pervert' spying on these two....... picture 3 clearly needs the caption 'Ahhem, some privacy whilst we smooch please!' wink.

Very nice series of photo's. The 3rd one is cool and in the 4th one the bird looks like it's really enjoying that grooming attention.

Very cute series .... great work capturing those moments.

Never seen the red tails so clear and revealed before.

I can't disagree with any of the comments.

Mother Hen, do you have any idea as to the prickly plant species on which the finches are posing?

Sorry to say I don't know what the plant species is Woko, but it does grow in the reserve near me so I will check out the info signs to see if it is pictured/mentioned. It flowers in small bright yellow clumps and the I have observed quite a few old nests in them. It is a favourite with the finches and Superb Fairy Wrens. Will let you know if I have any luck!

Thanks Vas!

I think #4 finch is practicing its 'hidden ninja' pose, hee hee!

Wow, awesome pics! I see you recently spotted a male Rose Robin..... I saw one myself last Monday, what stunners they are and how lucky are we!!! I got a few photos but unfortunately not as beautifully sharp as yours. Looking forward to seeing more of your bird photography smiley

I seem to be seeing alot of Rose Robins lately, once you see and find there territories they are pretty easy to find. Lots of bird photo's to come, i have only been birding the last 3 months with a break since 2009 but i have lots of great captures i stilll have to upload on flickr. I actually went AWOL with macro for about 5 months so have to upload a few hundred keeper macro's alone.
