I took a few shots of a crested tern perched on some sort of channel marker in the river, just as he flew off i fired off one shot and got lucky!!!. Usually im too slow and end up with a picture of a empty branch or just a birds tail, or i dont have the right settings and its just a blur.

I was at Penguin Island today ( I have been meaning to get there for months now ) . I too got some great shots of the Crested Terns . I got a couple of super ones with a stand off between a Crested Tern and a Bridle Tern they were literally beak to beak. Also I got a new one to mark off my list the Fairy Tern , man never knew they were so small . I will have to post some photos tomorrow as I am still sorting through them.
