Lyrebird without tail.

The beautiful feathers of the male Lyrebird start to fall out in September.
The long feathers take about 3 months to regrow. Moulting continues throughout summer.
The male will be all beautiful again , by the time mating season starts in June.

thank you, i was wondering about that. saw and heard a heap of them around wisemans ferry in June.

i was planning a trip specifically to photograph the lyrebird. June it is then.
