Went to LBG after work today to look for the reported Black-Winged Stilts but no luck
Anyway took some shots of the freindly Lapwings that were there.

Kerry - Perth, Western Australia.
Wowee!!!! both the photos are brilliant but that second one took my breath away!
Marvelous!!!!
I like Lapwings, such ferociously fearless parents. Top shots Shorty! I'd never noticed just how pretty their legs were 'til now - probably because I was using mine (in nesting season) to run the other way,
West Coast Tasmania
brilliant photos - really shows off the spurs, not seen one that close before
Cheers Diane
Thanks, everyone for the great compliments
Glad you all enjoyed them. This one was aggressive at first but when i layed down on the ground it got very comfortable with me.

Brilliant photos Shorty
Hope you didn't squash any eggs while laying on the ground
This is what they would have looked like, they simply lay them on the ground. Hope you don't mind me posting them here, just wanted to show them to you.

Thanks, M-L. I always check before laying down (for snakes)
Cool eggs, looks like this is where the Army picked their colours from?
