After the success of last Sunday's trip to Serendip Sanctuary I would like to invite people to come along to a patch of bushland in the middle of suburbia. La Trobe Sanctuary is my current patch where I work and volunteer, so I can offer some context and history of the site.
Aside from the good range of urban birds, including several parrot species it's an interesting case study in ecological restoration and a good news story in the often sad history of our modern impact on the environment.
So if you're interested in getting out for a few hours in a nice setting, taking some photos and meeting like-minded people please come along.
