Does anyone know if the Olive-backed Oriole mimics other birds?
I just heard a bird up in the gums calling with Eastern Rosella, Noisy Miner, Grey Butcherbird, Magpie and ending in the Olive-backed Oriole call.
It might have been the resident Grey Butcherbird? not sure.

I didn't know either, Jackie, so I googled it and apparently they are known as great mimics especially the males - Graham Pizzey mentions this in one of his books. Thanks for bringing this up I find stories and information like this it very interesting.

I have a resident grey butcher bird where i work that mimics the crimson rosella and satin bower bird.
