Musk Duck

My first sighting of a most interesting duck from about a month ago at Cleve SA.

They sit very low in the water with just the top of there back showing.

Quite a unique-looking duck. smiley Love the tail-action.

In the first photograph it looks like it has been in an oil slick!

Was going to ask you Rick if you got to hear the call of the male musk duck ( very distinctive), but by the look of the display he is giving I think you just might havecheeky. Lovely birds , I have only ever seen one ALMOST all the way out of water. I dont think it is a common practice for it to venture out of the water or even fly .  I am glad you got to photograph one , thanks for sharing.
