Need help with an ID, please.

This little guy visited my backyard very briefly this morning. When I took the shot I thought it just another honeyeater or little wattlebird, but when I checked on my computer I found something quite different. Can anyone help ID this little guy for me?

Lucky catch to have in your garden somethng you cant identlify Karl. I have looked through the guides and maybe a Juvenile  Jacky Winter ??? Looks too dark streaked to be a juv Mistletoe bird. Just a guess though , you may have to wait for better people to confirm Nice catch just the same

Thanks for looking, and I thought Jacky Winter, strange name for a bird, way too big to be a juv mistletoe bird, the tail looks very short, but otherwise was thinking maybe striped honeyeater.

Oh OK then it would be too big to be a Jacky Winter too

Well done darin...no wonder I missed it.... in both guides it is on a page with the larger birds like Friarbirds. It didnt look that big in the Pic Karl. I have never heard of that anyway so well done!

A sweet bird.  Well done on both spotting it and photographing it.
