Both days were early starts, Saturday was another 3am and Sunday a more civilised 5am start.
Three new species to add to the list. First was a Painted Honeyeater (terrible photograph), a Forest Kingfisher and a Cicadabird, taking my bird count to 262 now. There were some interesting moments along the way.
Stars of the week-end were the Forest Kingfisher....
and a Cicadabird.
Plenty of Chestnut Mannikins along on both days.
Usually heard but not seen, an Australian Whipbird.
A Shining Bronze-Cuckoo showing off his fantastic colours. These and Mistletoebirds are birds that once you have seen your first one, start to become birds you see quite often.
Mistletoebird.
A common sight around Oakey and Dalby on the power poles are Nankeen Kestrels.
An almost in focus Coucol Pheasant in flight. Not something you see photographed very often.
Nice set, reflex. Congrats on those ticks

Lovely forest kingfishers Reflex - great to catch them in the sun like that.
You are right about seeing the bronze cuckoo and mistletoe birds often - i have seen the mistletoe birds quite frequently recently but only high up in the canopy and just the females or immatures. You got a nice detailed shot of one there.
I like your Chestnut Mannikins - cant beat a two-fer. Goes well with your 2 tufted honeyeaters from last week.
Looks like another successful trip! The colours in that Kingfisher are incredible, and I like the motion blur in the Pheasnt Coucal's wings. I found one dead the other day, very smelly but interesting to see up close. Nice job getting the whipbird out in the open.
