I have been doing some updating on the Smugmug site I host my photos on, and have noticed that clicking on the photo in these forums leads to the site (as it should) but that there was an option to purchase the photos ( as there shouldn't) I have disabled this and just wanted to make clear that I do not sell photos.
My participation on this site is for my love of birds and photography.

Just curious why you would not want to sell your photos?
And just in case you are not aware, if someone wants your pics on Smugmug all they have to do is click on the boxes on the bottom far right and then in the drop box select original, then right click to download the original pic for free.

Shorty, Just wanted to make clear that my reasons for being here have nothing to do with money.
With there suddenly being the option to buy there may have been some misunderstanding about my motives for participating on this site. There are so many scammers around these days I do like to protect my reputation as much as possible
My photos on Smugmug are right click protected, for what it's worth, but my main concern is not others downloading my photos.Simply that my participation here is not misunderstood.
Maybe I'm overreacting but it upset me to see the buy tab on the Smugmug site.

No worries, Rick. I don't think anyone would think less of you if you sold photos but i respect your views.
As for right click disabled on Smugmug, i have to tell you it is not working.
I have just downloaded one of your pics in original size from Smugmug, but have deleted it straight away.

Thanks for the heads up Shorty. I'm assuming you right clicked from the BIB image? seems there's a backdoor issue there.
Just tested and will download in reduced resolution from the BIB site.
No, i downloaded from your Smugmug. I just checked again and your block is now working.
Downloading from BIBY will only give a small file, just like FlickR.

Just a suggestion, maybe a donation to birds Australia could be a way of letting people use your pictures.
Hi Headsie, not sure what you mean.
I don't have a problem with people downloading any of my photos from this site, through this site, I just don't want the scammers downloading images from my hosting site. Has happened to a couple of my dive friends.
More than happy to donate to Birds Australia.
