I went down to the local park this afternoon hoping to see some honeyeaters and wattlebirds (I heard them this morning for the first time in a while). Instead I got a wonderful surprise. There is an enormous gum tree in one corner, with lots and lots of hollows perfect for nests. Last year it was home to Cockatoos and Rainbow Lorikeets, and today ... well... here are a few photos of what I saw.
Oh how wonderful! What a very popular tree amongst the locals, for good reason. Beautiful shots windshear, and what a great sight to see! So envious

For some reason I only saw these great photos now, sorry.( I must have gone to bed early)
Fantastic photos I love the last one, must have been a beautiful sunset, the bird looks illuminated.

I call those pics Sunset-Crested Cockatoos. :) Very photogenic!
Unfortunately BIB isn't letting me attach things. Grrr. Maybe later.
