After the male of my favourite wrens lost his leg, and then they lost their young, I watched them very closely. Ten minutes ago, I discovered ,she is sitting on eggs again. Then I noticed, the male has two legs. Well, let me put it that way, the one with only one leg didn't help with the feeding. He sat around and sang all day. He needed to be replaced. Lets hope this new man will live up to her expectations? Or else......
It would be great if someone could tell me what happens to the old male? He is still around my house, he looks beaten. Will he loose his breeding colours?

Possibly not, Araminta. I understand that a number of male superb fairy-wrens in breeding plumage even outside breeding season are older males.
