Peak Hour at the Chook Shed

Evening activity is frantic at the hen house and the horse troughs. Supurb Blue Wren and Red-Brown Firetails just some of the regulars.

Love this, the the Firetail in flight is great, and I would think sharp enough to zoom in on(?).

You have just given me an idea, we could take photos of birds around the horses. We get lots of different ones in and under the feeders, in and around the old baths filled with water. Some time ago we had a mother duck with 7 little ducks swimming in the bath. Let's see what you and I can come up with?

That shot is at the full extent of my camera's zoom. I can play around digitally for a closer shot.

The chook house, feed troughs, bird baths etc are the photographers friend. They make finding subjects easier, I see several species on a regular basis and am lucky to get 30 minutes a day to look/watch. Thirsty birds are braver birds, making it easier for amateurs like me to get up-close shots.

Great shots. Love the red brow finch in flight its a great shot.I agree with Birdie to have both of the finch and wren in the one shot is great. Great way to greet the morning going down to get your fresh eggs and have a heap of lovely little birds to great you. Keep them coming please.

Shots are just fine sawtellda, I would much rather sit and watch for thirty minutes a day though, you have the best seat in the house.
