i was wondering i was watching these Pelicans the other day as shown in the picture one of the Pelicans was dominating another pelican, it kept biting it until it left. is there a hierachy in Pelicans.

It's probably part of the mate selection process, Kerry, ensuring that the strongest genes are passed to future generations.
