Went for a family day out today up to Noosa and while walking along the Noosaville foreshore I came across some Pelicans. I have always wanted to catch one in this pose , as I usually see them up on top of the motorway lamp posts tucked up like this. I struck gold today with a pole that was my height in the water ..and had a resident on it !
But this is my favourite pose ....
I just love these birds
What a hoot! They sort of look like ducks, squatting like that.

Beautiful pics, birdie. I love watching the pelicans. They seem to adapt where ever they go.

Thanks guys... not sure how uncomfortable it is Tassie, they sit ilke that all night on the lamp posts, but I guess the oerch there is a bit larger and flatter!
Wendy I notice you are from Mandurah, and am curious about your signature. Are you involved with conservation down there>? I have been wondering how the inlet is looking now that the cut has been there fo a good operiod of time. Has it made a big difference to the ecology of the area?

Great shots Adrienne. I think he looks like comfortable, but i think we would be uncomfortable sitting like that. They are such a graceful bird for their size. I never tire of watching them.
