Is it just me Bruce? But I've never heard of a peach- face Lorikeet.Looks like a Musk Lorikeet to me. (where did you read about peach-face? I can't find it in any book) 4 is a female Superb Fairy Wren, and 5 is the matching male SFW.

Anyway, I hope you had a lovely walk? Must have been a lot of fun to see all those birds.

Not just you M-L , definetly a musk lorikeet . No such thing as a Peachfaced Lorikeet . There is  a Peachfaced lovebird which is native to Africa and commonly kept here in captivity .

Not just in captivity, narly. About 10 years ago we had a flock of about 5 peach-faced lovebirds near our house. Fortunately, we haven't seen them since.

You'd be spot on there, narly. If those peach-faced lovebirds had survived (I haven't heard that they did) it could have caused great damage among native parrot/lorikeet populations.
