Just an update for those who might be interested...
We have been watching at the first site two or three times per week.
The chick is usually with the adult we presume is the mother. The father sometimes goes missing for a few days but is presently there.
These first photos show the mother and chick preening each other. Sometimes the chick pushes its luck and starts pulling the mother's feathers out which seems to annoy the mother immensely.
Next there are photos of the mother and father preening each other (almost seems romantic).
The chick seems bored watching and once again starts pulling out the mother's feathers.
Both of the parents get very irritated by this and give it the 'death stare'.
Kind of reminds me of bored kids at our home.
Finally a couple of photos of the father flying off.
Cheers,
Antonia

Hi dwatsonbb and shoop,
Many thanks for your comments. We are looking forward to when the chicks catch their own meals.
Hopefully we can get some reasonable photos (!)
Sensational shots! I think the chick got the "behave, or go to your room" look, before mum & dad resumed their mutual grooming . So sweet, I know it serves a purpose more than anything, but the grooming does look very loving doesn't it? Please do keep posting, I"m one of many (I'm sure) who really look forward to your posts and updates - special times.

Photos 4-6 look like someone admiring another's dress at a party "Oooh, I love these feathers, where did you get them? I just HAVE to have them!"
amazing shots the chick seems to be a bit checky
thanks for the update

Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
Hi RubyE, windshear, Tezza and laza.
Thank you for commenting on the photos. It is funny how we can see so much behavior in the birds that seems so similar
to humans.
I try to look at them as animals but many times I begin to recognise little patterns that remind me of people I know.
Cheers and thanks,
Antonia
