Powerful Owl + Crimson Rosella

I know we promised to give you a break from P_owl photos, however we saw one today with a crimson rosella...first time for us.

A quick google search turns up no other photos of this so please excuse this one.

Cheers,

Antonia

It is interesting how the Powerful Owl can sit and hold its prey all day!

Thank you Wollemi, HelloBirdy and Elsie.

We know we are a bit too 'focused' on Powerful Owls, but they are a big part of our lives for now.

Each day we wonder if something new will be revealed to us. Mostly though, it is the same old thing but it is still interesting to watch the owls as they go through the seasons.

The two we watch most often are sitting closer together ..often side-by-side.  Their breeding time starts in the next 8-10 weeks or so.

Can't wait to see how everything works for them.

Cheers

,Antonia

Keep them coming!

Having a focus, so to speak, on one species can often benefit a range of other species & their habitats, particularly if habitat protection is one of the aspects of the focus.

Always love your pics Antonia. I only get a bit jealous that I don't have some as close as you do. If I did, I would probably do the same thing, although I doubt they would be as good as yours.

What location was this picture taken?

Started bird watching because my 5 year old loves birds. I now enjoy bird watching very much
