RAINBOW LORIKEETS gathering

I know we see a lot of pics of this very photographic, obliging bird, but a flock came in this morning and of course, I couldn't resist.  Loganlea, Qld.

Yes, they know how to make themselves heard.  Not too bad though.

These lot arrived mid morning.  I have one caged here that couldn't survive in the wild, and I'd taken the cage out to be cleaned.  Next thing, this lot arrived to check up on what I was doing to their "friend".

What a beautiful blue sky!  Oh, yes, the birds are beautiful too! All I've got is rain.( During  3 minutes of sunshine I took some photos of Rosellas though)

Look forward to the Rosella Pics, M-L.  We are having the most glorious Autumn days here at the moment.  Lovely to see sun after so much rain this year.

Nice splash of colour and blue sky (what's that?) for us here in Melbourne who have not seen sunshine for days....

That lot sure would've been noisy. I walk past a couple of roosting sites at UQ near the Green Bridge a couple of evenings a week and they make such a racket in the gum trees there.

And yes, the blue sky is awesome - this time of year is the absolute best in Qld - clear dry sunny days and just a hint of chill in the mornings. Makes up for the long wet season we've had till now.

What a flock!  We have a few here in Point Cook feeding alongside the little muskies on the blossoms.  I love the sound, makes the place feel tropical and happy.

I love the sound of the parrots whirling around above.  If its silent in the morning, I worry where they've gone.  Wouldn't be home without them.

Although they are so bright and colourful, if you have a close look, they do look a bit angry. Love those photos.

M-L they are inquisitive birds, but yes, they do seem to get these "expressions" at times.  There was one "drunk" from too much nectar in a tree out the front once.  He couldn't fly and fell when I walked by.  I didn't approach him, but oh dear, if I could have translated the scolding I am sure I should have blocked my ears.
