Rainbow Bee-eater with bee

I was lucky enough to watch three Rainbow B-eaters flying around for a while and took a lot of photos of them. They are very pretty birds.

One of my favourites. We always look forward to their arrival in late October - November. I like their soft calls, too.

Shane, thank you for the pic.  Where was it taken?

I have never seen one of these, ever, and feel deprived.  They are so lovely and apparently quite common.  One day......

Nice work Shane.

Good to have proof that they live up to their name...

Karen these were taken at Bribie Island on Monday I took a lot of photos mostly at a fair distance from me. You might be interested to know that I heard them at Riverdale Park about midday today over the back near the river, unfortunately I didn't see them.

Thanks Tim. I wish I could have been closer to fill the frame but the trees were tall but still pleased to see them.

Thanks Shane.  I'm thinking Riverdale Park is a great place for birds (and snakes).

I think that these are the 'prettiest' of birds, a great combination of colours
