Just shows it can happen. I know the inner city suburb of Chaktomuk well and I've never noticed any lowland scrub there. I am also surprised at the statement that the bird is not currently a threatened species. If it lives in Cambodia, it is threatened.
For anyone interested. Its rare to see a story like this amidst the usual Cambodian press topics relating to endemic corruption, abysmal leadership, inequity, sham democracy, etc.

No doubt the photos of the night parrot will be published by the highest bidder. Araminta I read the PPP because I lived in PP for a couple of years and built a house there. The paper is run by an Australian group and it generally presents an objective view (as much as it is able without risking the jailing or murder of its columnists/editors). I think most of them self-censor out of fear.
