Rape of the Environment

I am so enraged this morning because of this: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/messenger/north-northeast/resident-anger-a...

My letter to the developer is in embryo stage but will be sent in due course with a copy to council. This is vandalism of horrific proportions. However, the developers are probably in line for knight/damehoods with the emphasis on the hoods.

Welcome to Australia, where governments at all levels are in bed with big business.

There is no return that I can see in the foreseeable future, sadly. It happens EVERYWHERE!!!

Between 100 and 200 years old. A few strokes of the architects' pencil could probably have saved the trees. The vandal developer and the council should be brought to answer in the courts.

Don't waste your time writing to the developer Woko. I think I know what he will do with your letter. The council is another matter. The councillors responsible should be publicly shamed whenever the opportunity arises.

More shopping centres and consumerism, all the world needs. angry

All councils are evil. The genuises at mine thought they were so wonderful when they bulldozed pristine habitat with a known Powerful Owl tree. They moved the hollow to a new tree in a slither of bush somewhere else. How kind of them.

As already said, nowhere is safe anymore... crying

Australia is becoming ecologically dead right under our noses.

For Australian birds, natives=life, exotics=death, so do them a favour and go plant some natives and save their lives.
