Raptor weekend

Went out looking for Raptors this weekend.

Got to see BS Kites, N Kestrels, W Kites, Black Kites, Little Eagle (dark morph), WBS Eagles, Swamp harrier and WT Eagles.

Here are some shots of Black Kites and Swamp Harrier.

Thanks, Rick. We are lucky here in Canberra to have so many species, most easy to find.

Thanks, Shoop. Not sure about becoming a masterblush It's just a matter of finding reliable spots.

The Black Kite was a bonus for me as we don't get many sightings here and very rare to see one at this time of year apparently.

When i got out of my car at my Wedgie spot he started to fly around me before going to a tree, so i went to get some perch shots when i noticed a nest near him/her. I went back to the car and left it alone just in case. I will keep an eye on the nest from a distance to see if it is his/hers.

Wonderful photos ... the portrait of the B Kite is fantastic (as are the others too).
