I was walking up to the shed and whom do I spot on the grass stalk in the back paddock ? This pretty little fellow.
Pic's aren't very good unfortunately, he was a long way off the blowing around in the breeze
and then his better half came out for a look...
I assume they are nesting in the grass
A couple days before I heard the wonderful screech of some Black Cocactoos. They love munching on the nuts of the She Oaks that we have on our place. I grabbed the camera as they flew over head, pretty hard to get anything decent but this is the best of them
What a little beauty
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
havent yet seen a Red Backed Fairy Wren but hope to soon thanks for sharing
Such pretty little birds. Mrs Wren looks like she has a mouthful, for some hungry babies somewhere perhaps?

I just had a look where Redbacks are. Looks like a road trip is in order

I think so, there was a patch of grass they kept disappearing into. I don't want to go stumbling aorund upsetting them so I will leave them to it.
According to our book we're at the very bottom of their range. Either these guys are about as far south as you can go or climate change is affecting thier range and they're migrating south.
You;re always wlecome to pop into our porperty if you want to take pics. Can't guarentee any birds. Spring is an awesome time for honeyeaters :)
