Took these in my garden yesterday, the little bird was sitting right at my feet. I like the way he was holding the flower with one foot , and feasting on it.
Well done, I was chasing a whole bunch of these little buggas through bushland yesterday, but no matter how slowly or quietly I moved they always moved just far enough away that I couldn't get a decent shot. :/ Very cute little guys, love finches.
Where I live, Karen, red-browed finches turn up late autumn, early winter, & disappear in early spring. I think they migrate in autumn from the colder, higher parts of the Mt Lofty Ranges to lower levels where it's warmer in winter & then return to the cooler, higher parts in summer. Very sensible! Is this likely to be the case where you live?
oops, I meant to say: munching,, sorry

Beautiful M-L!
I love the second shot - the feather details are stunning.

These are lovely pics. I am seeing less finches around these days and more wrens. Not sure why.

Hi Woko, I will keep an eye on them, I still have flocks of 20-25 in my garden. Will let you know , if and when they leave.

Ta, Araminta. Bird movements are quite interesting, I think. Lots of information is coming out about global warming & bird movements.
I have to admit, I've not noted their movements. I just get excited when I see finches because I don't see many.
