Red Wattle Bird feeding on apple.

Red Wattle Bird drinking an apple. The slow motion at the end shows the detail of this incredible way of feeding. I know not up to the superb photos posted here, but for a video I feel it is OK.

As usual C&C appreciated. ad.

Wow, the slow motion is incredible,it almost looks as if the bird is not using the beak, but only the tongue. Thanks for showing the video.

ML that is my take on it too. He's 'mopping' the juice up with his tongue. Being a flower feeder the tongue is normally inside the flower so not commonly seen? Thanks ad.

As with other honeyeaters, the tongue of the Red Wattlebird has a brush tip, evolved to take up nectar from flowers (&, more latterly, apple juice from apples).  Great youtubeage, aussiedavid!
