Some sunshine , at last!!! Can't keep me inside, had to go looking for some victims (birds) in my garden. Here is one:

DSC01195 (1) DSC01196 (1) DSC01184 (2) can't resist, one moreDSC01203 (1) doesn't it look cute? All fluffed up, enjoying the warm sun?

I tried to correct the bad spelling mistake , I know it should say FIRETAIL, but for some reason it wouldn't let me do it.

Can someone please explain why?

Great detailed photos M-L. I love these finches, probably because I chased them around for so long before I got a good photo of them.

If anyone is interested in details,

Photos are taken from about 4m distance, using a Sony SLT-A55V  handheld, and a Sony 70-400mm lens.

Shutterspeed 1/500 sec

ISO 320

they are as they came out of the camera, not sharpened, only a small crop on the left side, as there was a little blurry branch.

Great shots, M-L, showing the colours and patterns of the bird's feathers. And thanks for including the technical detail, even though I don't understand it yet but I think it useful if more images included these details.

M-L they are lovely shots of a favourite of mine. The reason you can't change the spelling mistake is becasue it is in the title.... I have noticed before when I edit that the title doesn't seem to be able to be changed.

I have been reading up on your camera and now understand a little better why they are so sharp. Nikon has a camera that sharpens in camera and so does yours. A great idea for people who are not interested in editing etc. I am very impressed with both your photography eye and the performance of your camera/lens combination. Always love your birds and will love them even better when I get to see them in person one day .... it would have to be in Summer though as I have become a winter sook since I was ill. One day though wink

Hi M-L,

It may be that it won't let you change the title on the first post because that is the thread name and matches to the web address for the thread (in the address bar). And changing that would break links to the thread.

If not, there's probably some good reason for it that isn't immediately obvious...

Cheers
