Rescued Tawny Frogmouths

As some will know, my son and I do Wildlife rescue for Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. They have set up a network of over 300 F.O.C. (Friends of Carers or Friends of Critters) volunteers. We rescue and transport any native creature to either a carer or vet.

Last Saturday, Bonorong had a BBQ for all it's FOC and carers. We were given free access to the sanctuary, and I was able to take some pickies.

Tawny Frogmouth - is in for rehab, before being released back to the wild. There were six in all, most wil be released, 2 are unable to fly well enough to be released, and so will remain in captivity, hopefully to educate people of their plight.

Beautiful shots of one of my favourite birds - for some reason they älways remind me of grumpy "banksia men" I think it is their shape rather than their demeanor which I think is "I'm tough" bluff.
