Thinking of heading over to SW Western Australia to do some birding sometime after Xmas.
Thought of dividing the trip into two sections, woodland birds and seabirds ie petrels etc.
Any recommendations for must see areas?
Would be able to stay about 5 days each area.
Cheers
Rick
sorry I haven't seen your post before
I suggest that you read Frank O'Connor's wesite - http://birdingwa.iinet.net.au/
On the WA sites page he says - Most of the Western Australian endemics occur in the south west. A common itinerary is Perth to Dryandra State Forest, to Fitzgerald River National Park, to Waychinicup Nature Reserve, Two Peoples Bay and Albany for a couple of days, to Cape Leeuwin at Augusta via Mt Barker, Lake Muir and Manjimup, to Cape Naturaliste and back to Perth. The Mandurah and Pinjarra areas are very good especially in summer.
I have birded Mandurah, Dryandra SF, Albany and Cheynes Beach and suggest that you include each of them. Leave time at Cheynes Beach to get the very speedy Noisy Scrubbird (I hope that you get a better pic than I got).
You might also email my WA contact for uptodate info.

Thanks Peter, been to Dryandra, tough place in the heat. Going to Chaneys Beach tomorrow and maybe Stirling Ranges.
Hoping to get a couple of days at Eyre Bird Observatory on the way home.
