Hi all I saw a bird I could have sworn was a Rockwarbler, however it was north-west of Bathurst in amongst large granite outcrops. It was small and cinnamon-coloured all over and was hopping between the adjacent tree and the side of the granite boulder. At the same location I also saw a Speckled Warbler, Striated Pardalote and Superb Fairy-wren (among others). The habitat was pretty dry. Is there any chance that this species could occur this far west? Or can anyone suggest a species that could be easily confused for a Rockwarbler? Thanks, Kirstenoz
Judging by your description of appearance and behaviour it is almost certainly a Rockwarbler.
Cheers, Owen.
Morcombe's map indicates the Bathurst area as part of its range.
Great, very exciting. All the descriptions of it being restricted to Sydney Sandstone put me off

I went back last weekend hoping to get a pic where the moult had been completed, nice views & a good walk.
