Stopped at the Salt Creek loop road on the way back from Mount Gambier yesterday for an hour and had a great time.
Almost gave it a miss due to tiredness, and only and hour of light left, but happy I didn't.
In a small group of bushes about fifty metres from the road found Beautiful Firetails galore, Yellow rumped Thornbill,White browed scrubwren and an unexpected bonus, which I took to be a Southern scrub Robin at the time, a Rufous Bristlebird, first time seeing this beautiful bird.
Had also stopped for a couple of hours on the way down on Saturday and found a Purple gaped Honeyeater ( First, have been looking for one for ages), Mistletoe bird and Grey Fantail.
Throw in some Wrens and other bits and pieces and it turned out a great weekend.

A great spot indeed, Rick. Glad you found the Beautiful Firetails. Did you see any Pink-eared Ducks?
Thanks Woko, no sightings of Pink Eareds as yet, saw them last year down that way.
Plenty of Shelducks around the Mount and saw some Freckleds a few weeks ago at Laratinga.
Beautiful shots Rick , im still waiting to see a Firetail in the flesh
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
A great series of shots Rick. Other than the Fantail and Mistletoebird, they would all be firsts for me.
Great set of photos Rick - such beautiful birds. Well done getting two new species.
THey're really nice photographs Rick! Well done!
Nice photos. That Bristlebird really looks cool!
Looks like a top-week-end. I spent five hours at Mount Glorious on Sunday morning and didn't get one single keeper.

Thanks all,
Ryu, Salt Creek is approx 220 Klm SE of Adelaide on the Princes Highway.
The loop road starts opposite the roadhouse heading west towards the Coorong then loops back East and
rejoins the Highway about 10Klm further South. It is Part of the Coorong National Park.
