Samoa

I am currently on annual leave and spent week 1, well 5 days plus travel, on Upolu Is, Samoa.

I have now sorted my pics and my Samoan list is 27, though a number of these are not lifers.

I thought that I would share my pics though some of them are not real good.

I will have to return to replace these and also to get a few I missed.

Lovely & most interesting set of photos, pacman. Many of those Samoan species seem to be related to Australian species (or vice versa).

thanks Nathan

the C-c F-d was easier to find than our F-ds

there is also a Many-coloured F-d, I tried to talk myself into believing that the juvenile C-c F-d was actually a Many-coloured

yes - A Guide to the Birds of Fiji & Western Polynesia by Dick Watling (there is not a Samoan only guide)

I will have to go back as I did not get pics of all the Samoan birds.

Hi Peter,

You have some excellent photos here of the birds in Samoa! In fact I'm wondering if you would be willing to share some of you images for use on interpretive signs at selected natural attraction sites around Samoa? If you are interested I can provide further details via email.

Many thanks,

Kari

Certainly, if you send me a personal message with your email address we can then make the necessary arrangements. Top right hand corner of this page is the tab 'Messages'

You have reminded me to also follow up with the staff at the national gardens near the RL Stevenson house
