I had gone out to Anstead Bushland Reserve last weekend in the hopes of finding a reported sighting, but I had no luck. This weekend, I thought I would try my luck again, and I managed to find the little cutie. There were only a few dozen Grey Fantails to hide with.
(added a few photos from the previous visit when it was a bit less wintry)
Ha, it looks just as cold at your place as at mine. Love the Scarlet. They only turned up in my garden last week. There'll be more to come. But how lucky are you? I have never seen more than two Grey Fantails in one spot, and I don't have any Silvereyes at the moment, wonder where they went???
Good job, nice photos

Thanks! :) There are dozens and dozens of Grey Fantails at that reserve, and most places I've been lately. There are plentiful Silvereyes there too, and I see some around my backyard every now and then. Maybe they've all come north for winter?
And when I say cold, I doubt it got below 20, but it was quite windy.
Glad you had luck on your second visit and were rewarded with some great shots of that beautiful robin. He has got his eye on you in that last one .
