Selection from Eagleby wetlands.

For the first time was able to take my new long lens to Eagleby wetlands and have been fortunate to see a lot of birdlife in the past few days. My two favourites out of this lot are the Little Corellas and the Black-shouldered kite.

Nice set mate

Love the little Corellas shot and the Kingfisher is a nice pose as well

Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well

Great shots. My boy and I havent been to Eagleby wetlands in a while. We must go back :-)

Started bird watching because my 5 year old loves birds. I now enjoy bird watching very much

Very nice work- love the variety of birdlife there.

I like your photo of the two dollarbirds - made me realise I have only ever seen the occassional solitary dollarbird, never two together.

Thanks for that. Like most places Eagleby is alive with birds from sunrise to around 8.30 am, so it demands and early start. Cheers.

Thanks WD. Like you had only seen single Dollar birds until now. There are two pairs at Eagleby residing in the one huge gum tree, and they seem to stick fairly close together. Cheers

That is a great variety of birds there. Thanks for sharing.

I believe your Golden Headed Cisticola is a Tawny Grassbird as it's tail is far too long for a Cisticola.

Thanks Devo. I have another pic which I was trying to identify which is a small bird with similar plumage, but the striping goes up the back and over the head. Any idea what that would be? Pic attached.

This one looks like a Golden-headed Cisticola (non-breeding)
