Shadow of a wedgetail

I'd like to share what I saw the other day, a huge shadow was moving over trees not far from my place, I looked up to see it came from a wedgetailed eagle circling high above. I thought the scale of the shadow it made was a fitting demonstration of the power and magesty of this beautiful bird

They are magestic birds Tory. We get them here, they come evry year to look for ducklings to have a feast. No, to feed their young. Two years in a row they ate 23 of them.

Seeing a shadow pass always makes me look up - around here usually a wedgetail or whistling kite.

A couple of months ago I saw a wedgetail do a "power dive" to steal a rabbit from a hawke. Wings tucked in, it made quite a loud zooming noise as it dove down. This week they were scaring currawongs away from my vineyard.
